OpenAccess is glad to announce that we have put into production a new circuit providing us with direct Tier-1 nationwide and global Internet transport.

This will improve performance and provide even greater availability of services across the U.S. and into both Europe and Asia for our business customers with far flung operations.

It also keeps OpenAccess ahead of the curve as video downloads and ipTV services start to roll out in full force. We also now deliver high quality connectivity directly to a wide array of the hottest companies now working on internet video.

We will also continue to stay connected to our regular local and regional providers, although some Seattle based internet providers will be slightly 'farther away' across the Internet for a while. In particular, for those of you on our fiber system who frequently use certain Seattle based internet providers for speed tests to guage your bandwidth performance, you may find most now averaging around 18mbps instead of the regular 40-60mbps you are used to seeing. Although these speeds are clearly adequate for most folk's needs today, we will still be moving forward this summer getting connected directly to Seattle based providers. Also, you should find both bandwidth and latency to places like Chicago, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, London, Los Angeles, New York and Tokyo a little bit sweeter.
